Big Domain runs a three-hour agentic AI workshop in George Town on Monday 30 November 2026, from 2pm to 5pm, at Digital Penang on Pengkalan Weld. It is one of the closing sessions of PENtastic Startup Month 2026, the month-long programme Digital Penang coordinates across the northern startup ecosystem. Seats are RM50 for the early-bird tier and RM399 for the standard tier, and the early-bird ticket converts into a RM50 voucher against an AI, SEO or hosting product.
The session has two halves. Dr Henry Tye runs a live WorkBuddy demonstration for the first hour, and Wong You Huat of Suria AI takes the second with the content and video workflow his team uses. The remainder is hands-on time. Everyone in the room is expected to leave with a finished video and one working automation, not notes.
The event has two published names. Digital Penang lists it as AI for Business Content and Video with WonderClip and Wan 3.0. The ticketing page, run by BD Events, calls it Agentic AI Workshop Penang — Turn AI Into Your Hardest-Working Employee. Same room, same date, same speakers. If you are matching a calendar invite to a listing, that is why the wording differs.

Why this workshop is different from the other AI talks in November
PENtastic Startup Month carries more than twenty sessions. Several are AI-themed. The difference here is scope: this one is limited to what a small business can run on a laptop, with no engineering team and no monthly platform contract.
That constraint changes the content. There is no model architecture section. There is no discussion of fine-tuning. What the room does instead is take one real business — a product, a price, a buyer — and push it all the way through to a published video and an automated follow-up.
Two things make that practical rather than aspirational.
The first is that the demonstration is live. Dr Henry Tye runs WorkBuddy in front of the room, on real files, and the audience watches the agent plan, execute and hand back a finished deliverable. If something fails, the room sees it fail and sees the recovery. Henry has run this format since the SAMENTA AI Fest sessions in September, and the failure-and-recovery segment is consistently the part people ask about afterwards.
The second is that the video half is taught by someone who ships video commercially. Wong You Huat co-founded Suria AI, and the segment is the Suria AI playbook rather than a feature tour. That matters because most AI video demonstrations show a beautiful twenty-second clip that no business could actually publish.

What WorkBuddy actually is, in plain terms
WorkBuddy is Tencent’s AI agent. Big Domain is an official Tencent Cloud agentic-cloud partner in Malaysia, which is why the demonstration runs on it.
The distinction that matters for a business owner is where it runs and what comes out. A chat assistant answers a question and hands the task back to you. WorkBuddy runs on your machine, inside folders you approve, and returns a file: a spreadsheet, a deck, a report, a piece of code. You can open it and check it. That sounds like a small difference and it is not, because a finished file is auditable in a way that a paragraph of advice is not.
The commercial terms as published for Malaysian users:
| Plan | What you get |
|---|---|
| Free | 100 credits a month, no card required, a daily active reward, and 3 automation tasks |
| New users | An additional 350 credits through Big Domain onboarding |
| Pro trial | 7 days, 500 credits |
| Pro | A paid tier with a larger monthly allowance, priced in US dollars on the official page |

One caveat that catches Malaysians repeatedly, and it is worth saying before you book a seat. WorkBuddy has a mainland China edition and an international edition, and the free allowance, the daily reward and the new-user bonus all apply on the international edition at workbuddy.ai. Paid subscriptions and third-party skill installations are currently available only in mainland China. The free tier works in Malaysia; the paid tier does not yet.
Data handling is the other thing to settle early. For users outside mainland China the data controller is Tencent Cloud International Pte. Ltd. in Singapore, and inputs are processed by third-party language models. If your work involves personal data, read the PDPA notes before you paste anything in. That is a real operational question, not a disclaimer.
WonderClip and Wan 3.0: the video half
The listing title names two things most Malaysian business owners have not used, so here is what they are.
Wan 3.0 is Alibaba Cloud’s video generation model, and the third major iteration of the Wan family. The capability that changed the economics is duration: a single generation now runs to 30 seconds, at up to 1080P, with continuous camera movement, synchronised audio and multi-modal reference. Before this generation, AI video meant assembling a sequence of five-second fragments, which is why so much of it looked disjointed. A 30-second single take is long enough to be an actual shot in an actual story.
WonderClip is the product layer on top of it. Alibaba Cloud’s Chinese product is 万镜一刻, and WonderClip is the international site that launched on 22 September 2026 at the Yunqi Conference. It covers the full chain — script parsing, storyboard, shot generation, then an editing timeline — and it bills per second rather than per asset, tiered by resolution. The official site is yikeai.com.
The practical consequence for an SME is that video stopped being a booking. There is no crew, no studio day and no editor. What still costs money is judgement — knowing what the video should say, and knowing when the output is not good enough to publish.
The token problem nobody explains: what you are actually buying
This is the section most people wish someone had given them before their first AI bill, and it is why the workshop spends time on it.
The underlying unit of AI consumption is the token — a fragment of text, roughly three-quarters of a word in English. Providers price input tokens and output tokens separately, per million. That part is consistent across the industry.
What is not consistent is the unit vendors put in front of you.
| What you see | Where | The trap |
|---|---|---|
| Credits | WorkBuddy, OpenRouter, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, several others | The word is the industry default but the value is not. One vendor’s credit is not another’s. |
| Points | Some platforms, and some telco-style prepaid plans | Usually has no published money value at all, which makes comparison impossible without a spreadsheet. |
| Pooled monthly quota | BD Token Hub and similar gateways | Cheaper per token at volume, but you need to know whether unused quota rolls over. |
| Raw tokens, per million | Direct from the model providers | Comparable across vendors, but the bill is in US dollars and arrives on a foreign card. |
Unit naming as published by each vendor, checked 4 November 2026. Credit values are not interchangeable between platforms.
So the answer to “how much is a credit” is: it depends whose credit. Tencent’s own console uses credits for a different pool than WorkBuddy’s credits. Poe sells compute points and does not publish a money value. That is not a scandal, it is just a category that grew faster than its vocabulary.

For a Malaysian business the two questions that actually decide the bill are these. Is the price quoted in a currency you can pay without a foreign card, and is the quota pooled or per-key? Everything else is arithmetic once you know the ringgit cost per million output tokens.
Big Domain’s own gateway, the LLM Token Hub, answers both by selling pooled monthly token quotas in ringgit — Lite at RM39, Standard at RM95, Pro at RM279 and Max at RM549, with an Enterprise Lite tier from RM99 that carries 50 million or more tokens a month. One OpenAI-compatible key reaches DeepSeek, GLM, Kimi and Hunyuan through a Singapore-region endpoint, and the invoice is Malaysian. Whether that is cheaper than buying direct depends entirely on your volume, and anyone who tells you otherwise without your usage numbers is guessing.
Who should take a seat, and who should not
Three hours is a real cost for a small team, so be honest about the fit.
Come if you are an SME owner or a manager who has tried ChatGPT and found the output unusable as a deliverable. Come if you produce marketing content and the bottleneck is production rather than ideas. Come if you have been quoted a five-figure video package and want to know what the AI alternative actually looks like. Come if you are the person in the company who ends up doing the repetitive admin.
Skip it if you are looking for a technical deep dive on model architectures, or if you want a vendor-neutral survey of every tool on the market. This is a build session with a point of view, delivered by two practitioners who will recommend what they use.
The room is deliberately small. That is stated on the ticketing page, and it is the reason the hands-on segment works — everyone gets a turn rather than watching a projector.
What to bring: a laptop, a real business problem, and one product worth making a video about. Not a hypothetical. The session degrades badly if the input is generic, because the output will be generic too.
Getting there, and what the ticket covers
Digital Penang sits at Wisma Yeap Chor Ee on Pengkalan Weld, on the George Town waterfront. It is a short walk from the Weld Quay ferry terminal and there is paid street parking along the heritage blocks. If you are driving in from Bayan Lepas or Batu Kawan, allow for the afternoon bridge and Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu traffic — a 2pm start means leaving the industrial belt before half past one.
The RM50 early-bird ticket includes the full three hours and converts into a RM50 voucher for an AI, SEO or hosting product. The standard tier is RM399. Both are limited, and the early-bird allocation is the one that runs out first.
The session is also listed on Big Domain’s own events block at bigdomain.my, alongside its earlier Penang and Kuala Lumpur sessions, and it appears in the PENtastic programme calendar with more than twenty other sessions across the month.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Agentic AI Workshop Penang on 30 November 2026?
A three-hour hands-on session at Digital Penang, 2pm to 5pm, run by Big Domain as part of PENtastic Startup Month 2026. Dr Henry Tye demonstrates WorkBuddy live and Wong You Huat of Suria AI teaches the content and video workflow. Attendees build a marketing video and an automation during the session.
How much does it cost?
RM50 for the early-bird tier, which converts into a RM50 voucher against an AI, SEO or hosting product, and RM399 for the standard tier. Seats are limited.
Is WorkBuddy free in Malaysia?
The free tier is. It gives 100 credits a month with no card, a daily active reward and 3 automation tasks, plus 350 additional credits through Big Domain onboarding. The paid Pro subscription and third-party skill installations are currently available only in mainland China.
What is WonderClip?
Alibaba Cloud’s full-chain AI video product. The Chinese product is 万镜一刻 and WonderClip is the international site, launched 22 September 2026. It runs on the Wan 3.0 model and bills per second, tiered by resolution.
What is Wan 3.0 and why does 30 seconds matter?
Wan 3.0 is Alibaba Cloud’s video generation model. It generates a single shot of up to 30 seconds at up to 1080P with continuous camera movement and synchronised audio. The duration matters because earlier models produced five-second fragments that had to be stitched, and the stitching was visible.
What is a token, and is a credit the same thing?
A token is a fragment of text and it is the unit AI providers actually meter. A credit is a vendor’s wrapper around that unit, and its value differs by vendor. WorkBuddy, OpenRouter and Cursor all sell credits and none of them mean the same amount of work. Compare the ringgit cost per million output tokens instead.
Do I need to bring anything?
A laptop and one real business problem. Bring a product you would genuinely want a video for. Generic input produces generic output.
Where exactly is the venue?
Digital Penang, Wisma Yeap Chor Ee, Pengkalan Weld, George Town, 10300 Penang. It is on the waterfront, a short walk from the Weld Quay ferry terminal.
Is this session part of a larger programme?
Yes. PENtastic Startup Month 2026 runs from 1 to 30 November across Penang, coordinated by Digital Penang with events organised independently by ecosystem partners. More than twenty sessions are listed, spanning regulation, finance, design, gaming and AI.
